We are proud to announce the release of our freerange strained yoghurt. Free from starches, stabilisers, sugar and flavourants, the full fat yoghurt is made only from the milk of pasture-fed Jersey cows and traditional yoghurt cultures. A natural process involving drainage through muslin cloth ( to avoid the need for moisture-binding starches and stabilisers) is used to make the unique yoghurt. With its higher milk content, Fairview yoghurt boasts over double the amount of protein than most other yoghurts. As has been put forward by proponents of the recent low carbohydrate, high fat and high protein lifestyle (most notably in the Real Meal Revolution), the full fat and starch – and stabiliser – free nature of the yoghurt makes it a healthier option than lower fat varieties, which are often laden with sugar and lack the nutritional benefits of healthy fats. It is of course also a naturally carbohydrate-free food. Fairview strained yoghurt is rich and creamy, and can be mixed with fruit, nuts, honey or any other topping of your choice.
The Fairview Vineyard Cheesery produces a range of over 20 cow’s milk and goat’s milk artisanal cheeses that are sold in all major centres in South Africa. Fairview products are sold both in the catering market and major retailers. Fairview offers a range of locally and internationally awarded artisanal cheeses including white mould, blue mould, feta and cream cheese styles. The cheesery sources the bulk of its cow’s milk from a leading Jersey milk dairy. The Saanen goat’s milk used for production is supplied by the resident herd of over 1000 goats. The factory is fully audited and complies with international hygiene and safety regulations. The Fairview range of cheeses is certified Halaal and Kosher. Fairview recently became the first Carbon Neutral Cheesery on the African continent, certified by The Carbon Protocol of South Africa.
